As your new County Councillor I want everyone to work together to advance the town.
Unfortunately there are some who are still intent on using Shepshed as a political football and
in that respect the British National Party are using the resignation of two Conservatives from our Town Council
to call another by-election! This will be on the eve of Christmas itself, causing our Town Council an expense of
up to £8,000. Normally vacancies at the Town Council are filled by consensus, using co-option, because it’s
really regarded as a matter for local people rather than party politics.
However, we are where we are, and we cannot allow Shepshed to be used as a platform for the BNP extremists.
Do we want far right political parades, or hard working representatives improving our town?
In the next few weeks you'll no doubt hear from them, as well as the other parties.
I'll be working to help Stephen Londesborough and Dr Richard Tabberer succeed because they
are two honest and bright people who just what to help Shepshed.
Please remember to put Shepshed first, look at the candidates closely and make your decision in our town's interest.
